Mages
Magic is the most powerful
force of the known world. People distrust and dislike technology as a
whole and prefer the 'safety' of benign magic and their mages over any mad
scientist. Magery is divided into several schools: Black, White, Red,
Blue, Caller, Geomancy, and Time. |

| Mages can find employment in a
variety of fields. While the easiest to become and be hired for is that of
the battle, or black mage, throwing spells of destruction at those your
employer decides, those of less violent tendencies have little problem
plying their trade. Blue mages tend to captive monsters, studying and
caring for them, despite growing distrust about their brand of magic.
White mages make obvious doctors and healers, mending wounds of illness,
accident and war with equal ease. Red mages prove flexible, learning all
magic and doing them with a modicum of skill. Callers commune with the
souls of the once living, becoming a bridge to the spirit world.
Geomancers guide miners and excavators to the proper places, assist with
city planning, and occasionally accompany adventuring parties, steeling
them against the elements the monsters may use to harm them. The esoteric
field of time magic is a bit more limited, relegated largely to
philosophy, it still has its uses in combat, bending time around friends
and foes for the best advantage. |
