Espers and Valente
The Espers do not have a place or enclave of their own in Valente, as they do in many other parts of the world. Rather, the admittedly far smaller number of Espers living in the far South tend to live in relative harmony with the local populace, largely just another member of society. Whilst some, most often the foreigners, might still prefer to follow the fae laws and traditions, many will equally be affiliated with various factions without formal retainership, whilst others participate freely in the economy as citizens and craftsmen.

Espers in the Northern Lands
Close to Gaia as it is, the Northern Continent plays host to a good number of Espers and other spiritual beings, though many are wanderers, hermits. A few enclaves exist, notably the Northern Enclave some twenty miles or so north of the city of Highwind Point, which by and large allows itself to be lead by the Esper Forest far to the south in its government and outlook, although of course many things must differ with the wildly different environment. One especial note is the tendency to name the high spirit Shiva as the ruler of the North, subordinating their own rulers as such with such titles as 'Princess' rather than 'Queen'.
HotE
Reading the epilogue Rule of Silence and her successor will give more information as to what happened to them since the end of SC:HotE. This faction is currently not on grid, so is not taking members, but this information is left here for reference by previous members and by new Esper PCs who would like to know their culture ( yet more information on the fae culture can be found here: Esper Court ); not to mention the eventual possibility of renewed activity.
Mission Statement
The Esper Court on Gaia has been established to govern those spiritual creatures that do not fall under laws of Mortal Men, to prevent situations from getting out of hand, and to facilitate cooperation between Espers and Mortals. In essence, it's not so much an Organization as it is a Nation.
Leadership
The present ruler is Queen Emerald, daughter of Eve. After Silence's disappearance on her ascension to the form of a lesser spirit, the throne was handed to the former Esper Princess by large scale consent, in recognition of her long and patient wait. Now her rule watches over a prosperous and peaceful forest, largely left be by the outside world after its recovery from the dark time brought on by Emperor Elliot's forceful takeover of the Empire.
Previous Rulers
Silence - One of the most controversial monarchs ever to watch over the Esper Court, Silence was also one of its more notable considering the trials the forest faced at the time. Daughter of the now Spirit of Magic, Alynna, her rule was plagued by the suspicion of the mortal powers. In spite of this, either by luck or skill, she succeeded in achieving peace with the Empire after an attempted genocide by the new Emperor Elliot - yet more impressive due to the fact that in spite of many truly well-fought battles, the Espers' far smaller nation was unable to do noticeable damage to the Empire's far greater resources. Notably it was also by her order that the Esper Graveyard was emptied of its magicyte, which is now either destroyed in some ritual or hidden away somewhere unreachable that mortals may not obtain it, thus making the forest a far less lucrative target for raids. Her reign also saw the oncoming of the lasting peace the forest now enjoys, brought about by a decisive battle against an attacking army of heretics. The resultant massacre proved once and for all the forest's newly formed defensive capability and has deterred attacks ever since.
Tempiea - administered the Court from shortly after Mairi was installed, until Silence chose to request the throne herself. During her time she dealt with some of the most difficult scenarios the Espers had to face, including full scale invasion by the Empire, and a mass exodus after the forest was temporarily occupied. Tempiea was not, however, ever crowned, instead looking after the court whilst Mairi, even after her disappearance, remained the titled Queen.
Mairi - daughter of Phobetor, and installed to the throne by Eoin after his returning to his duties as a lesser spirit. Her time as full ruler was brief, however Mairi was still in an official sense the Esper Queen during Tempiea's administration, holding the title until Silence requested and was accepted to the throne. Mairi is one of the forest's most enigmatic characters, having been the Esper after whom the forest's lake is named thanks to her restoring it from a ruined crater. Her mysterious disappearance during a sojourn in the north with several other court members remains a piece of Esper folk lore.
Eoin - ruled alongside of Eve before as the King, then came back during a time when there was no ruler to fill in until their could be. It was Eoin who enthroned Mairi, before returning to his duties as minor spirit of Death.
Alynna - ruled until she became the spirit of Magic, as spirits do not normally preside over factions in the mortal realm. Notable events during her rule was the Shade crisis. The faction was very nearly infiltrated by the shades, but in the end Alynna and the espers played a vital role in their defeat.
Phobetor - ruled during a quiet but dark time in the forest. Unfortunately many espers and half-espers left during this time, and he eventually vacated the throne of his own accord and disappeared. Curiously however, this time is fondly remembered by most.
Eve - ruled as Queen along with King Eoin, probably the most respected ruler in mortal memory, ruling the forest during a time of quiet respect for most espers.
Thraxius Thistleborne - the legendary first Esper King, and by lore the first and most powerful Esper ever to walk the face of Gaia. The story goes that the shock of his death during the great war between Espers and mortals precipitated the signing of the Esper-Mortal Pact.
Membership
The Esper faction is, as it is currently not an active faction within the grid, not taking members at this time. However, these are the means of gaining membership whenever such becomes possible once more.
Talk to the present esper ruler or any member of the faction for details. Keep in mind that the alt that is in the Esper faction is unlikely to be allowed to join another faction in an official fashion.
How to Join: Being a full or half Fae/Esper and/or a Summonable Entity, you pledge your allegeance to the Esper Court before the King/Queen or Chancellor. Mortals may also swear allegeance as Retainers in the same fashion. Notably, not all Espers are members of the Court.
The Esper faction wishes to be an active faction, so members are often given tasks to perform.
Ranks: In order from low to high the ranks are Retainer, Commoner, Higher Commoner, Noble, Higher Noble, Regency, Royalty, and Monarchy. Uncommonly faithful mortal retainers have moved as high in the ranks as Commoner, but it is traditional for the higher ranks to only be held by Espers or Half-Espers, and no non-Esper may ever become nobility or above. Half-Espers typically only go so high as Higher Commoner, though exceptions being made are not out of the quesion, if only under incredibly rare and exceptional circumstances. Those of Regency and Royalty ranks have especially important duties in the court.
Notable Ranks held:
Viscountess Tempiea: seer, advisor, chancellor. Despite her frightful arachnid appearance, tends to command the respect of mortal powers whether they be allies or enemies.
Lady Regis Ice: the holder of the key to the most secret vaults in the Esper Castle. Noone, not even the Queen herself, has access to the vaults other than Ice, and very few even know of their existence - practically no-one outside of the Esper Court. She has held this position since as long as can be remembered, at the very least from time of Queen Eve.
Ambassadors include Hana and Kibou, Shun, and most recently Anhur
Wardens ( The Esper equivalant of Enforcers, although very different. See the Traditions and Laws section of the Esper Court's Culture page for more information ) include Shun, Armis, and Hana and Kibou
Relationship with other Factions and Cities
How Espers are seen depends greatly on the culture from a person originates. Their culture differs so vastly from the cities they are closest too, that they are often looked at with fear or suspicion by the public; although people with high spiritual awareness seem to be more likely to view them with respect or honor them, especially summoners.
After the current Emperor Elliot's attempt at a genocidal war against them, the Espers have against all odds once more made peace with the Empire, although for a long time that peace was shakey and uncertain at best. However, after an attack by a rogue, heretical army, which proved disastrous for the attackers with no survivors whatsoever, the Esper Court in turn having lost almost no-one, their newly formed defenses have proved deterrent to anyone who has been so foolhardy as to consider attacking the peaceful, but visciously protective nation's homeland. Thus, the Esper Court currently enjoys a much appreciated era of peace and prosperity within its small home territory, with little to no involvement with the outside world excepting the occasional low-profile visit by single members, be their reasons personal, business, or more often simple curiosity or playfulness.
Atwas/Domains: Each Esper and spirit has an atwa. This is basicly what they represent and normally signified by saying they are the Esper of or spirit of such. Some examples are Protection, Silence, Secrets, War, Passion, or more conventional atwas such as Fire, Water, Lightning, etc.
