In this newest incarnation of Southern Cross, there is now a dynamic economy system. This means that players are able to effect the economy by participating in gathering resources.

1- Harvesting

  • One of the minigames available is +harvest. This command allows you to look for Metals, Food, Water, Wood, Clay, and Leather. Certain tools are necessary to harvest some materials--mining picks, bronze axes, and basic hunting knives. There are also circumstances in which items can be harvest. For example, when the weather is above 32.0 degrees (0 degrees C), food can be harvested courtesy of the local farms. THe picture below is a screenshot of what this program looks like.

2- Hunting

  • A second minigame available is +hunt. This minigame allows you to hunt many monsters and animals available in the local wilderness. These animals can range anywhere from Basic Imps to the elusive and legendary snipe. In order to use this program, you will first need to have a hunting weapon or the special Feral Hunting. To start, you can +hunt/weapon (weapon name); these can be arrows, javelins, knives, or Feral Hunting. Once you have equipped your weapon, you can type +hunt/track.

3- Fish

  • A fourth and final minigame available is +fish. This minigame allows one to use a fishing pole to catch fish from the local harbor bay and river. In order to fish, one needs to have fishing bait or lures along with a fishing rod. To start, you can type +fish/cast.
